If you’re lining up a bulk material delivery, a little prep work goes a long way. Getting your site ready not only saves you time (and headaches), it keeps your crew moving and the job on track. At CR Plus, we’re all about making life easier — so here’s a quick checklist to make sure everything’s ready to roll when our trucks pull up.
1. Know What (and How Much) You Need
Before booking, make sure you’ve got your quantities locked in and the right material picked out — whether it’s road base, aggregates, sands, soils, or mulch. Not sure exactly how much you need? No dramas. Give our team a call and we’ll help you figure it out, no guesswork needed. If there are specific compliance needs for your materials (like TfNSW 3051 spec DGB20 or TfNSW 3580 spec drainage aggs), let us know upfront so we can match you with the right product.
2. Make Space for the Trucks
Clear access for bulk material deliveries makes everything smoother. Check your entry points for any low trees, overhanging wires, or tight corners that might slow things down. A clean run in and out means less waiting around and faster tipping. Your future self will thank you. If you’ve got a restricted access site, give us a heads up when you book. We’ll match the truck size to your site so your delivery gets in and out without drama.
3. Sort Out Your Tipping Area
Have a spot ready to go — somewhere solid, stable and easy for our drivers to get to. If you need the material run out along your subgrade instead of stockpiled, just let us know beforehand. We’re flexible when you are. It’s a lot easier to plan the right truck movements ahead of time rather than on the fly. Bonus tip: If you’re expecting rain, make sure your tipping spot has good drainage and will remain accessible. A wet site can slow things down fast — and no one wants to be bogged in when there’s work to be done.
4. Loop in Your Crew
Sounds simple, but it’s a game changer: make sure your site crew knows when the delivery’s landing and where it’s going. We’ll always have a site contact to call, but having someone meet the truck makes things faster, cleaner, and saves a lot of pointing and asking questions later on.
